Walking, eating, drinking, and figuring out life in Japan one day at a time.

This morning, Boots and I crossed another milestone:

425 kilometers for the year.

No big event.

No planning.

Just another walk that happened to push the number over.

How It Happens

You don’t really notice it day to day.

It’s just:

  • “quick walk”
  • “one more loop”
  • “fine, we’ll go again”

And somehow that turns into 425km.

The Real Driver

Let’s not pretend this is my doing.

Boots:

  • sets the pace
  • decides the distance
  • ignores weather, time, and logic

I just show up and keep moving.

The Walk Itself

Nothing dramatic about this one.

  • Slight chill
  • Quiet surroundings
  • One very motivated corgi

And a human following along trying to keep things consistent.

The Numbers

  • 425 km
  • Countless early mornings
  • Zero negotiation from Boots

It adds up faster than expected… mostly because skipping isn’t really an option.

Final Thoughts

425km wasn’t a goal.

It’s just where we are now.

And based on current leadership, there’s only one direction this is going:

Forward.
